Why can't UK do the same? It would greatly improve turnout at all elections and also speed up count process and presumably significantly reduce costs. Modern encryption technology surely can now ensure electoral fraud is not a major problem for online voting.

The formal position of the Association for Computing Machinery (foremost experts) is that e-Voting isn't secure. It's one of the reasons why Ireland abandoned plans to do this despite having already purchased electronic voting machines.
Unlike Estonia UK is not potentially likely to hold an election while occupied by a foreign power.
