RT by @CarolineLucas: Some issues should and do transcend party politics.
Unless and until we hold the current Israeli government to account -tragically made up of the far right , the extreme right and the self confessed fascist right nothing will change.
We are realising now that neither we nor the US have any influence or sway over Netanyahu and it’s therefore time for a different approach.
Decades of appeasement of Netanyahu and his extremist cabinet colleagues has simply emboldened him - Israelis including ex IDF soldiers, ex Israeli intelligence officers and Palestinians alike have been warning us and we failed to heed their calls.
I welcome >@FCDOGovUK decision to sanction settlers and we must now go further.
A political solution requires two partners for peace - those partners are neither Hamas nor Netanyahu and his extremist government and we must be brave enough to say this.

@CarolineLucas
Spot on ! But I don't think either the US or the UK governments will have the courage to change tack. Israeli lobbyists have an unhealthy influence over both governments.
