Legislating for annual oil & gas licensing rounds is a gimmick - they're happening almost annually already. This Bill does set new climate compatibility tests - except they're set so low, it's impossible not to meet them. So what on earth is the point of this Bill - & this Govt?

The government is captured by the fossil fuel industry.
So, the "point" of the government, is to give voters the impression that the government isn't captured by the fossil fuel industry.
