@CarolineLucas as a volunteer I used to patrol open access land in a national park. Off the footpaths or tracks rarely saw a soul. Some of the ground was a bit dangerous but mostly people didn’t just want to wander off well trodden tracks. Around where I live now footpaths exit on OS maps but not on the ground at all
