RT @GreenRupertRead: Sick, sick anti-democratic law-change by the Cons.
Please, please share this with anyone you know who ever votes Conservative. They need to know how their Government is blatantly trying to stop younger people from being able to vote, in a last ditch bid to stay in power…

@CarolineLucas if this is actually upheld then the result from the election will not be legitimate and there will be civil unrest.
@CarolineLucas can you ask Sunak at PMQs what the difference between Oyster card for OAP and student is in terms of acceptability
@CarolineLucas we should always continue to remind people of postal vote option that avoids this gerrymandering

@CarolineLucas This is effective from the May Local Elections, isn't it, Caroline? 🤔
We need to get a campaign to get the younger voters organised... And remember - an Oyster Card is something only used in London as far as I'm aware.. What can they use elsewhere? Many youngsters won't have passport OR driving licenses...
It's an affront to democracy!😡
@CarolineLucas This is going to backfire on them. I'm over 60, a financially independent home owner in Southern England, with ID and I WILL vote - for whichever party ensures a #Tory defeat.
I'm not the only one.
@CarolineLucas I couldn’t read the article can someone explain what is going on here, are they trying to pass a law making it illegal to vote under 60?
@skymtf @CarolineLucas it's ageist gerrymandering, the torys passed a voters I'd law across the UK so now you need ID to vote, but most of the valid ID's are ones OAP's have and very few of the youth ID'S are valid, this is a specific xase where exactly the same ID from the same company is valid if your over 60 but not if your under 60
@CarolineLucas Why are the governor just copying Trump's attempts to do the same. It backfired for him. I guess it'll backfire for the Tories too.
@CarolineLucas whatever party you vote gor so important that young people are enabled to vote and become part of our democracy
ID to vote is bizarre given we don't have a fraud issue but ID that actively excludes swathes of the population is so undemocratic it should nmake any politician of any party's skin crawl
Thank you for raising this
