Yesterday evening we enjoyed attending Christmas Eve mass celebrated by Fr Victor Paul Farrugia at Sant'Anton Palace. Well done to Enrico Bonavia for reciting this year's traditional Christmas sermon.

Miriam and I visited the Kirkop Sports Complex which will host L-Istrina 2022 with a new & fresher look on Boxing Day from noon till midnight on local TV stations. While I thanked all the workers & volunteers, we are looking forward to welcome people with donations.

Miriam and I enjoyed a lovely performance by Romanian Orthodox children living in Malta singing traditional Christmas carols in Maltese, English and Romanian at San Anton Palace. In a few words, I stressed that this is the way we like to see integration happening in Malta.

I congratulate new Judges Doreen Clarke and Josette Demicoli who took the oath of office earlier today. They can be an example and inspiration to many girls and female students to take the same steps for a successful and valuable career for society. (Cont.)

During the celebration of the 48th anniversary of Republic Day in Gozo, I spoke, among other things, about the protection of the unique and typical Gozitan environment. We must take care of this island’s charm because if we lose it, much more will be lost. (cont.)

Prof. Pierre Mallia presented me with his publication 'Bioethics and Clinical Ethics, from theory to practice'. We talked about the importance that discussions about ethics, especially in the medical field, are given more attention when discussing subjects of a difficult nature.

It was a pleasure to attend the Chanuka celebrations in Valletta. The lightening of the menorah is not only a symbol of light, empathy & wisdom but is also a reminder of how special & important our individual traditions are to the future peaceful development of our common region.
