Also turned out to be completely wrong - governments built capacity and are now perfectly able to regulate complex financial markets. Why not do the same for AI?

With the banking crisis, at least it was possible to contain it by throwing even more money at it(our money)
What are we going to throw at AI, massively out of control? Pull the powercord?

By the time we get to that point, AI will have already gotten so intwined in the internet that it would be like pulling the powercord on the internet itself.
