With unplanned collapse, it's rural communities that bear the burden: planned reform properly funded would allow some elective specialisms to be located in areas outside Belfast and those of us who live in the city need to be willing to travel, too.

That's why I support planned reform, to engage Translink and Infrastructure, rather than unplanned collapse.

They discussed their 5 point plan and made a presentation on the challenges that recent service withdrawal is causing. We're now taking some key points back to the Trust.

I have said already that emergency general surgery wasn't removed as part of planned reform, but because lack of consultants made it unsustainable. That kind of unplanned collapse, which is damaging, will continue unless planned reforms are implemented.

And I met SOAH today in Enniskillen with @PaulaJaneB discuss their 5 point plan. It was very positive and we're following up with DOH and the Trust.

And we all (including those of us in urban areas) need to be willing to bear part of the burden.
