@RobertF46213563 @allianceparty I introduced the UWO and other powers while in office: it's up to the PSNI and other agencies (eg HMRC) of the organised crime task force to decide where and when to use them.
The sooner it happens the better. We need to make sure crime doesn't pay to end these organisations.
@CoggleCurtis @micky_murray If it's outside your shop it is blasting into your work. We have complaints from traders who see shoppers cross the street away from their shop to avoid it.
All amplified performers should need a pitch licence which requires the amplification to be within reasonable limits IMO.
@cathyweir5 As MP, I asked it be included in the abuse inquiry set up by Theresa May as Home Secretary, given allegations of cover-up: that was refused. I wrote to the late Sir Anthony Hart about adding it to HIA Inquiry; sadly, only a short review was possible as it wasn't within his remit.

@micky_murray Having to listen to it in passing is bad enough, but this is being blasted into people's workplaces. If the Council played sermons into offices through the City Council sound system, they'd be done for discrimination in the workplace, yet this impacts every workplace nearby.
@JC396509365 He wasn't approved as a candidate and left the party: it happens all the time. Obviously, I can't discuss individual applications, but I can say without hesitation it had nothing to do with his views on a UI.
