@Lactrollsintol @1stBaronetDSO @_great_advice_ @Twitter @StaceyGraham90 Lol. Let's see how it goes...

@MaggieBrown13 Who said it was about PUL? Seriously, you're a pest. One more daft comment and you're blocked.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW I had front row seats. I saw it happening over the last year of the previous mandate and the first 9 months of the 2016 one. It was an absolute slow motion car crash.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW All of that is history but our proposals would have prevented collapse then and would have again this time.

They work to prevent blocking in government and blocking of government. Cooperation and collaboration is incentivised.

That is good for everyone - unionists included.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW No, it wasn't. But we were all frustrated that the DUP were blocking every other party's views including other unionists.

There has to be some give and take: there was none.

That's a recipe for disaster and then it was compounded by RHI and then the Irish language comments. >

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/naomi_long/st

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW It's important to recognise how we ended up here (and there). For example, Alliance, SDLP and UUP all refused to join the Executive in 2016, in our case, because the DUP had repeatedly abused the POC and refused reform.

That left SF and DUP in the Exec and then RHI happened.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW That isn't why the Assembly collapsed? That became an issue when the Executive collapsed, thanks to Paul Givan withdrawing £50k of funding from a children's language programme against the advice of his officials as the Assembly was collapsing.

It collapsed over RHI.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW No-one is suggesting excluding unionists or anyone else. The right to be in govt remains based on mandate: only those who opt out would be out.

FWIW, I don't believe they'd opt out if govt continued without them. That's an incentive to work through challenges, not walk away.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW It didn't work for SF. And two wrongs don't make a right.

Crucially, the UK/EU need to deal with *everyone's* concerns. They have spent most of the last 7 years dealing with the DUP's demands/concerns.

You do understand they don't represent all unionists let alone all NI views?

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/naomi_long/st

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW It also ensures my vote counts equally with every other MLA and that no single party can collapse Stormont again.

It means the right to opt out which every other party enjoys is extended to the two largest parties.

That is fairer, better and more stable.

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW Our proposals encourage partnership, rather than vetoes.

No-one is excluded, unless they opt to walk away. Cooperation is incentivised via weighted majority voting on key issues.

So, it's not full voluntary coalition or straight majoritarianism - it retains GFA protections. >

@mc39763951 @SteveBakerHW It was never opposed by Alliance: we've been consistent.

Oddly, DUP and TUV are the one's doing the volte face on this.

It's almost like they were only ever interested in excluding nationalists, rather than our objective which has always been better govt. 🤔

@UltanOBhraidin @ONIP1966 @Kelmba @NickDMathison @Tesco @JamieBrysonCPNI @BeattieDoug Lol. If a tree falls in the forest and I'm not there to condemn it, do you reckon it still makes somone on Twitter pure raging?

@CaucasianMale3 @ONIP1966 @Kelmba @NickDMathison @Tesco @JamieBrysonCPNI @BeattieDoug I was Justice Minister: I am not Twitter's answer to Judge Judy.

I've answered this and it's now descending into a pile on. I'm out.

@MaggieBrown13 You mean like the right words in the correct order? With appropriate punctuation?

Those kind of basics?

You might want to delete your tweet and start again, in that case.

@MaggieBrown13 Quite harsh about your own post (which is the one with the stamp), but I admire your self-reflection.

Well done.
