@WriteTruths @allianceparty We didn't support new borders anywhere: that was the hard Brexiteers.
If there were going to be checks, from a purely practical perspective, they were always more likely to be at 7 ports/airports than 200-odd road crossing at the border.
We warned of this in 2016...

On the very same website, there's a series of different proposals/statements (eg re medicines, UK/EU veterinary agreement) which could have resolved many of the issues.

I didn't say I would find it awful: I said it would be an odd choice for the DUP to act in ways that made it more likely.

@UtrinqusParrot He (and many of our reps) have participated in such discussions on a without prejudice basis many times. We've also participated in discussions about the future of the UK.
There's nothing new or novel here: we judge each invite on its merits.
