@Weerthepeople Can't have it without Committees and an Assembly, but I did offer regular briefings and Q&A to justice spokespersons to try to compensate for that.
@katy_scarletta Not so. Before making my ministerial direction, we had a letter from Conor Murphy stating that he was minded to give Justice additional resource for this purpose.
The Fiscal Commission recognised Justice was underfunded in the draft budget and that our services are demand-led.

I'd have thought those were the opposite of a waste.
@tbdukni No. The money he had centrally would offset that.
Not quite. The overspend was originally forecast at £660m: it has been reduced to £332m.
Of the original £660m, £205m was energy pressures and £300m public sector pay.
Those pressures are in large part due to the Tory's fiscal mismanagement. Important we share the whole story.

My Ministerial direction was discussed with and notified to DoF in the usual way and was only made after DoF indicated in a letter by Conor Murphy that, were an Executive to be formed, Justice would received additional resources to deal with these issues.
