@DownOrangeMan @allianceparty They don't alter the principles of the Agreement so don't require a referendum and more than St Andrew’s, Stormont House, Fresh Start, or NDNA changes did.
@Stewart72240342 @allianceparty We never backed the old structures and have consistently argued for reform, reform that is consistent with the principles of the GFA but deal with the elements which create instability.
The DUP actually agreed with us in 2011 and 2016...

And that's exactly what we said when SF walked out. We also said it before then, too.

@CerbhalMac @apallan @jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 It's an event to encourage young leaders from all parties. The fact that Jeffrey is one of those involved in the organisation running it isn't really the issue. Dozens of young leaders benefit from the scheme each year.
@gawanorniron Brexit didn't have cross community consent. The protocol is part of that. International relations are not a devolved matter and so lie with Parliament.
This is the fundamental point and it's you who is missing it.

@Cheesewright3 @gawanorniron What partners in wanting this reform? So far the only party that has consistently called for reform is Alliance. We're also the only party offering a way to end this cycle of ransom politics for good. Because giving in to the demands of those who cause disruption isn't working.
@DianeFowler1 I have no agreements with Michelle. But the UK has an agreement with the EU. I won't help the DUP get rid of the protocol because it would be catastrophic for the local economy: however, we have already put forward proposals for reform which would address their main concerns.

We could deliver better if we had sustained government with strong leadership, but even now we are making in-roads into paramilitarism, most civil servants work hard within Ministers' directions and the growth of the centre is a cause for hope.

We support actual cross-community voting via a weighted majority.
Interestingly, so did the DUP in 2011 and 2016. And the TUV support straight majority voting.

I'll be clear in my comments that not letting them do the job their elected to do, does the opposite.
@jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 It isn't hopeless, though it is frustrating. Things are changing, just nowhere near quickly enough. But the old orange vs green certainties are gone and I'm determined to build on that; to end the ransom politics and focus on what we can change for the better.
