@DownOrangeMan @allianceparty They don't alter the principles of the Agreement so don't require a referendum and more than St Andrew’s, Stormont House, Fresh Start, or NDNA changes did.

@Stewart72240342 @allianceparty We never backed the old structures and have consistently argued for reform, reform that is consistent with the principles of the GFA but deal with the elements which create instability.

The DUP actually agreed with us in 2011 and 2016...

@AlbertCooke15 @allianceparty That isn't what we are saying, though: we're saying cross-community consent should be measured with every vote counting equally, not via parallel consent.

And that's exactly what we said when SF walked out. We also said it before then, too.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@IJB24261782 That's what our reforms would allow. The current rules don't permit that.

@prodlegacy @AnnieCshandbag @BelTel That literally never happened. We ordered food from a local restaurant in Belfast - a cheese board and charcuterie - for my birthday, to support a local business in tough times.

Now it's mutated into "a banquet from London"...your absolute hatred is distorting your perspective.

@cuchullain @apallan @jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 Nothing.

@CerbhalMac @apallan @jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 It's an event to encourage young leaders from all parties. The fact that Jeffrey is one of those involved in the organisation running it isn't really the issue. Dozens of young leaders benefit from the scheme each year.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@gawanorniron Brexit didn't have cross community consent. The protocol is part of that. International relations are not a devolved matter and so lie with Parliament.

This is the fundamental point and it's you who is missing it.

RT @PaulaJaneB: So pleased to see this. @MichelleGuy4 and I were working with local residents on this issue. I applaud @CarryduffS for this trial 👏👏

@Cheesewright3 @gawanorniron What partners in wanting this reform? So far the only party that has consistently called for reform is Alliance. We're also the only party offering a way to end this cycle of ransom politics for good. Because giving in to the demands of those who cause disruption isn't working.

@DianeFowler1 I have no agreements with Michelle. But the UK has an agreement with the EU. I won't help the DUP get rid of the protocol because it would be catastrophic for the local economy: however, we have already put forward proposals for reform which would address their main concerns.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 I don't think that is the case. We could deliver better if we had sustained government with strong leadership, but even now we are making in-roads into paramilitarism, most civil servants work hard within Ministers' directions and the growth of the centre is a cause for hope.

@Donnan_S @thatpaulbloomer You're still younger than me. You'll always have that 😂

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@thatpaulbloomer @Donnan_S Happy birthday @Donnan_S ! Hope you had a great day. Despite how old you're getting...lol

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@Colin899Dean @BelTel No, we object to parallel consent which counts our votes as less than others. That's discrimination.

We support actual cross-community voting via a weighted majority.

Interestingly, so did the DUP in 2011 and 2016. And the TUV support straight majority voting.

@tmobjim @NornEye @allianceparty Oh dear. Someone else who doesn't understand cotext and timelines.

Any more juvenile name calling, and you'll be blocked.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@JamesHaggan1 We need to break that cycle and thatbis precisely what our proposed reforms will achieve.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@apallan @jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 It isn't solely run by Jeffrey and I can assure you my remarks will not be validating him or his policy: this event is about encouraging a new generation of young leaders. I'll be clear in my comments that not letting them do the job their elected to do, does the opposite.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/naomi_long/status/15

@jon_ni72 @brendanhughes64 @WilliamMcGowa15 It isn't hopeless, though it is frustrating. Things are changing, just nowhere near quickly enough. But the old orange vs green certainties are gone and I'm determined to build on that; to end the ransom politics and focus on what we can change for the better.

Keep the faith.
