It isn't compulsory. No-one is being forced. If parents are uncomfortable or concerned, there are plenty of other options.

I do think as a powerful influence within society, they have an opportunity to drive change and advance equality. They aren't all rapists or misogynists because some are: that would be a ludicrous claim.

These are artistic performers who adjust to their audience. Their show in a late night adult venue would be entirely different to a mainstream TV show, or a storybook reading.
Just like any performer.

But that's not what's happening. This a a theatrical performance in a theatre environment which parents attend with their children.

I've no influence over enforcement: the police, prosecution and judiciary are entirely operationally independent - and for very good reason: to prevent political interference in due process.

Jimmy Saville was a DJ: are all DJs paedophiles?
Stop associating all LGBTQIA people with paedophilia. It's dangerous and wrong.

I've never condoned/ignored harassment of anyone for their views even if I disagree with them. I've been harassed for being trans-inclusive, though.

@Dianne_Little9 @allianceparty @moneillsf Precisely, Dianne. And that is the fundamental concern. It isn't just about the past, though even then it would cause real anguish to many victims. It also risks giving licence in the present and future to those who still argue that they have no alternative. That is dangerous.

Many founder members came from nationalist backgrounds and wanted a better future where their children would be treated as equals.
We continue to strive for equality and human rights 50+ years on.
