@bozzyrosko @allianceparty I understand that, too. But with the benefit of hindsight and the weight of leadership on your shoulders, it's possible both to acknowledge that reality and that many others chose not to engage in violence despite being in the same circumstances. So, there was a choice.

She isn't getting grief: I'm disagreeing with her position which is an entirely legitimate thing to do.
@gtmag10 @allianceparty And not to be a pedant about something this complex, but *chosing* to fight acknowledges that alternatives existed.
SDLP, Alliance and others took them.
@gtmag10 @allianceparty I disagree, so did those who formed the party and the many who voted for it across the community.
Right and wrong always matters, regardless of circumstances: moreso when it comes with the benefit of hindsight and the weight of significant office to shoulder.

I think I have a pretty broad perspective, and understand the narrative. I simply disagree with it.
We all have our own perspectives, but we aren't entitled to our own truth. Throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s, @allianceparty and others were working to reach democratic solutions, which were hampered by violence. There was most definitely an alternative; many thousands chose it.
