PPS isn't part of Dept of Justice at all: their Director is head of a non-ministerial Department. As Minister, I was aware of the challenges and worked with Judiciary, Chief Constable, & DPP on speeding up justice, but they are operationally independent of MoJ.

@BEKHetherington @realZacTC @BeattieDoug @Joanne_Bunting @aislingreillysf @SineadMcL4Foyle I sought additional funding for Covid-19 recovery and, when Westminster invested £2bn in justice, I bid for the Barnett consequentials of circa £20m to assist with similar pressures in NI. The Department of Finance gave that money to other departments.
