@BrianMc141 @Javoudria @BeattieDoug The Minister creates legislation and policy: they do not enforce it, prosecute it, or sentence those who break it.
The judiciary being independent is a pillar of our democracy. It in no way negates the legislative role of the Minister.

As Minister, I extended those powers to additional classes of offences.
