@dmcbfs The issue is cashing out. Placing credit on the account is fine. Cashing out if people need the money for gas/oil is not.
If everyone with a DD account sought to cash out at once, the system couldn't cope.
Those on PAYG are even more complicated as there's no way to verify ID.>

@dmcbfs This is what I raised with the SOS yesterday. The most vulnerable people face a delay in payment and lack of security around ensuring only they can cash it out.
Government doesn't seem to have a scheme to address it: they're just demanding the energy companies do. It's a mess.
