RT by @karmel80: THANK YOU ESTEBAN MARTUCCI!

¡Aguanta Ucrania! lost yesterday one of its creators and an exceptional friend, the Argentinean art director Esteban Martucci. We bitterly regret his death and send all our feelings of solidarity and condolence to his two daughters and his beloved wife Noé.

When a year and a half ago we took on the task of building bridges between Ukrainians and Latin Americans so that the barbaric Russian invasion would not be ignored, it was Esteban who came up with all the images for the campaign, designed the graphic art and coined the very phrase that has guided us ever since: ¡Aguanta Ucrania! Esteban had the most extraordinary visual intelligence and was without doubt one of the great art directors of Argentina and Latin America.

Esteban had no other relationship with Ukraine than the deep-rooted feeling that the Russian invasion was one of the greatest injustices and one of the greatest dangers that humanity has faced in decades; and that we Latin Americans could not remain silent.

He devoted himself body and soul to the cause of Ukraine. As his illness advanced and his visits to the hospital in Buenos Aires were more frequent, he would say to us: "don’t worry, tomorrow I will back home and ready to work on the campaign". He was a fighter in the best sense of the word, and all friends of Ukraine are in his debt.

A Boca fan, a humble man, a good man, a great man has left us suddenly and left a void in our hearts. We will always remember him.
