Today I co-hosted a seminar on the impact of the Nature Restoration Act. The problems that The Netherlands already has with existing nature legislation, such as the Habitat Directive, will eventually become a problem for other countries as well. (1/3)

The new EU nature restoration law goes even beyond this. While the Habitat Directive does not yet provide a timeline, this new proposal already sets binding targets for habitat restoration and expansion by 2030, 2040 and 2050. (2/3)
