This is the Bialiatsky mural in Vilnius, Lithuania. We will not abandon him or forget his bravery. He and all the other pro-democracy activists who have been silenced by Lukashenko's corrupt judiciary have the right to live in freedom and must be released without delay.

My colleague Valdas Benkunskas, vice-mayor of Vilnius, saw Putin supporters laying flowers on a destroyed Russian tank from Ukraine, so he installed a garbage container that says "for carnations, candles and Soviet nostalgia".
I hereby name this exhibit "The Trashcan of History".

Yulia Navalnaya and her team are not giving up on their battle to save Aleksei Navalny and steer Russia towards democracy. It was an honour and a pleasure to talk today and I call on all democratic leaders to support their efforts.

Forcing Ukraine to betray part of her citizenry would not be just, nor would it bring peace. Such "agreements" only lay the foundations of the next conflict. That is why we ask Ukraine's allies to commit fully to a complete Ukrainian victory. This is the only true option.

Myth 7: The Baltics and Poland only want revenge.
Reality: After centuries of Russian aggression we want security. We know we cannot expect security without a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
It's simple: Peace means respecting borders.

Myth 6: All wars end with negotiations.
Reality: WWII didn’t end with negotiations. Peace can only be sustainable if Putin is defeated. Ongoing negotiations with Putin would lead only to recurring conflict. Swift, full victory is the only guarantee of lasting peace.

Myth 5: We can go back to business as usual with Putin.
Reality: Putin is far too heavily invested in his crusade against the West. He cannot turn back. He sees our peace offerings as weakness and uses them against us. He should be in court, not in power.

Myth 4: Crimea is a red line for Putin.
Reality: Putin has announced many red lines. He threatened huge consequences if Ukraine’s allies sent any help at all, but his red lines keep evaporating. Internationally agreed borders must be respected without fear. Crimea is Ukraine.

Myth 3: Russia will get tired and want to settle.
Reality: Putin's goals have not changed. He still believes he can achieve them. He will only settle as a timeout before the next aggression. He will keep reigniting the conflict. He announced a crusade, so he cannot stop.

Myth 2: Russia is unbeatable.
Reality: Ukraine’s allies have only committed a tiny fraction of their resources. Manufacture can be ramped up. The combined Nordic-Baltic GDP alone is bigger than Russia’s. Russia could and should be defeated.

Myth 1: Ukraine is unable to win back all territory including Crimea.
Reality: Ukrainians have shown repeatedly that they can restore territorial integrity, given the necessary weapons and training. Our support can be decisive. The ball is in our court. Ukraine can win.

We all want peace in Ukraine, but a lasting peace cannot be based on myths. Here are the myths that must be discarded before we can talk about achieving sustainable peace: 🧵

Lithuania marks the anniversary of Russia's attacks by crowdfunding 14,000,000 EUR for Ukraine's air defence systems. Long live Ukraine!

One year ago the world doubted that Ukraine would stay standing. Now the world must stop doubting that Ukraine can win. It is time for all Ukraine's allies to declare commitment to a full victory.
Слава Україні 🇺🇦

The UN resolution is clear. Peace requires full respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity, justice requires investigations into warcrimes. Lithuania's position is also clear: All this requires Ukraine's victory on the battlefield.

Lithuania has a special relationship with the UK, our cooperation is increasing as we support Ukraine together. Today I met my good friend @JamesCleverly to discuss the upcoming year's challenges. There is no question in our minds, we will stand with Ukraine until victory.

Lithuanian MPs chose not to take part in the OESC Parliamentary Assembly because it is absurd and grotesque to discuss European security when a genocidal dictatorship is invited to the same table. Thanks, but no thanks.

NATO is not at war with Russia. NATO hasn't even started a special military operation against Russia. Russia is being beaten by Ukrainians, not by NATO. This is getting embarassing for some people, and it shows.
