RT @heimbergecon: Without interest payments, Italy has run a budget surplus for most of the last 20 years, writes the FT. It would be 30 years if we were to extend this to early 1990s. The UK comparison is striking, and even 🇩🇪with smaller primary surpluses. 🇮🇹problem *not* a lack of austerity.
