It did.

The SNP proposed the following day of the Brexit vote that the UK should remain in both the custom union and the single market.
Westminster refused.

@Newareopagitica @europarl_en @UKHouseofLords I disagree, smaller countries get proportionally more out of the EU than larger countries, this is in fact one of the reasons why Britain left.
In the UK, it’s the contrary. The Republic of Ireland can testify that it is the case.
