I share the frustrations of Dáithí & his family. It is extremely disappointing that the NI parties have been unable to come together on this today

Held a productive video call with Foreign Secretary @JamesCleverly and NI Secretary @chhcalling. We took stock of our ongoing work on the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland. Our objective is clear - joint solutions to practical concerns in NI.

Today I met NI Parties to discuss key issues impacting the people of NI including the budgetary situation, the governance gap and steps they can take to deliver .

Today I have introduced a Bill to create more time for Parties to work together and return to government. An election in the coming weeks will not be helpful or welcome for people in Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland needs sustainable finances in order to maintain the delivery of public services.

This Bill sought to address the unsustainable trajectory of spending by NI departments in the absence of ministers.
