RT @jennirsl: Please read; the most important piece I've written. Mass poisoning has suddenly killed off most sea life for 30 miles by the Tees. The govt claims it's natural; ind scientists warn it's manmade. The govt is desperate not to inquire too deeply as its freeport policy is at stake.

RT @s_everson: If Labour weren't so committed to maintaining the current grotesque inequalities of wealth, @peterkyle would have been able to challenge Victoria Atkins on the affordability of funding the NHS properly by asking why she prefers under-funding it to taxing wealth.

2. 8%??? 🙄

How is that a cost of living boost?

Students need the kind of deal we in the Green Party have been advocating for years:
Education should be free.
Living costs should be fully funded.
Universities need well paid staff on proper contracts.

RT @GeorgeMonbiot: 3. Cars and trucks consume 50% of all the palm oil sold in the European Union, 32% of the soy oil and 58% of the rapeseed oil. Altogether, 18% of the world’s vegetable oil is turned into biodiesel.

RT @GeorgeMonbiot: 1. It doesn't get much dumber than this. George Eustice MP is now calling for houses to be heated with vegetable oil. As Environment Secretary, he presided over the total disaster of the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation, a catastrophe from which he has learnt nothing. 🧵

RT @bobwiggin: @grantshapps Mr Shapps, If you give employers the power to sack essential workers who go on strike then exactly who is going to do the essential work when those essential workers are sacked? It’s a simple question. What’s your answer?

There's a reason why Green Party members were (and are) in favour of EU membership, and why wanted out and want rid of the laws we currently have. Look at this!
RT @KeasdenKate: 3/3: And for those short of time the contents list doubles as a quick summary of the environmental consequences of the Retained EU Law Bill👇🏻

RT @KeasdenKate: 2/3: "The [] Bill is an exercise in diminishment, equivalent to seeking to scrawl the blueprint of St Pauls Cathedral onto a napkin with the ⏰ ticking and an instruction to make it less like a cathedral". "

RT @GreenChristian_: Do follow this and the thread. The government is rushing through changes to the EU laws which once protected our UK nature. wcl.org.uk/docs/What_price_der These regulations constitute the protections we all rely on for clean air, clean water and ..

Tell me, who has been putting lives at risk? Why is it currently impossible to get an ambulance? Who is trying to put that right?
🧐
RT @danbloom1: 🚨 Grant Shapps has just accused striking paramedics of putting "lives at risk"

RT @bheardmedia: Tory Grant Shapps told..

“You can’t get an ambulance! You can't get health workers! you can't get beds in hospitals! There’s no point in suggesting that it's the strikes that are causing this problem!"😤

@ollykilo @MikeyCycling True that most of those items listed are simply maintenance parts and utility items (but we hardly buy those very often). But there is a lot of marketing of fancy cycling gear. Which would have served as better examples of cyclist consumerism.

Raising pay for non agency staff to make it as profitable to work for the NHS as for a private agency... Instantly cuts the costs of trying to fill gaps by using agencies and leeching staff to the agencies.

Outsourcing is not the quickest way to solve the NHS crisis. Eliminating the pension tax issue that's causing senior doctors to cut days and hours is an obvious solution with instant benefits. Urgent processing of the backlog of visa applications would be another.

@MikeyCycling His point was about the contribution to the capitalist economy. He's not wrong. Cyclists buy a lot of silly and unnecessary gear and advertisers target them too.
