RT @TheGreenParty: 🎙️"Once again the Green Party is the only party saying we're willing to invest, we are willing to join these dots..."

@ZackPolanski discusses our vision for a fairer, greener country on Times Radio ⬇️

@MartinSLewis @BurtyBird Precisely. So if you can't afford food rent and heating now, you won't suddenly be able to afford it if inflation is halved. You'll be even less able to afford it than you are now.

Also the police will be on strike. The border force will be on strike. The air and sea rescue will be on strike. The immigration centre staff will be on strike. The lawyers will be on strike. The court employees will be on strike....

@PoppyFatherCult We are a party funded by donations from people on low wages who've been facing pay cuts for 12 years. We pay inflation linked wage rises. We could make everyone redundant, or we can campaign for wage rises for our members and supporters to boost income. Which would you do?

RT @RMTunion: Hi Josh,
To date, the government has used £320 million of taxpayer money to indemnify the train operators against any losses on strike days.
That money would have more than covered the cost of any pay rises.

@Johninnit @MegaphoneUK Since they can't actually afford to sack anyone, and you'd get more as an agency nurse, the legislation is completely powerless. They just don't understand what to do when there aren't enough workers and pay is too low. They don't have any solution because workers have the power.

@bianhaan It seems that the sensible thing would have been for the Democrats to vote for him. As it is he is being forced to make concessions to the extremists at each round to win their votes. Could have cut through that by lending him some Democrat votes first time round.

RT @ben_frost: @Samfr This is key, and hasn’t really cut through IMO.

A huge part of this strike is not “higher pay for me”. It is “enough pay to enable recruitment, to make the job doable and the service safe”.

RT @Mills4Humanity: The collective wealth of the European billionaire class increased 48.1% throughout the pandemic, according to the Oxfam's 'Taxing extreme wealth' report. We need to act now, time for a .

RT @torydemolition: Sunak has come out of hiding to make a ridiculous speech that merely highlights five big problems that the UK faces. What a fool.

RT @torydemolition: Remember this...The EU procurement process would have prevented the £7bn Tory PPE fraud and the £37bn "test and trace" failure. This profiteering, corruption and fraud was only possible because of Brexit. Does start to make sense now? 🤔

@burntomorrow I think it helps to see that the Conservatives are not the party you were brought up to respect, but have been wholly corrupted and taken over by something that would have horrified one's parents and grandparents. Not that my parents were Conservatives, but my godfather was.

@burntomorrow You are a star! This is such an achievement. We need to help others to make this hugely difficult move: I meet people so often who, for the first time in their lives, are having doubts about the Tory voting habit. But it's like part of their identity. Lancing it is painful.

@ShaneLevitt11 @mjdaly57 @akaSpearBird They still seem to have a problem with refugees, What are they proposing? Rwanda is a small part of the hostile environment and demonising of the migrant as source of all evils. Let's name the evils properly shall we?

But maybe they have in mind that we could reverse the progress towards an aging demographic? That would be .... ummm... novel?

@burntomorrow It's great to hear you face up to that. It was such a seductive campaign, and so many people were desperate for the changes they promised.
