@SimpleGull There is no supply of cheap workers if you have a proper minimum wage that is the living wage, and if public sector jobs have wages set at a level that equates to their value and educational requirements. It's entirely the government's choice. Immigration makes no difference.

UK government underfunds child care so grandparents can't go to work if parents do. UK govt could end all these barriers to a flourishing economy if it invested in a UBI and high public sector wages, and raised the minimum wage to a real living wage. It's not about #immigration.
