Address the causes of mental health problems, instead of waiting till they happen. In particular, try a UBI to ensure that no one is too afraid to leave an abusive relationship or to get free of workplace bullying. UBI saves mental health costs, reduces sick leave, saves lives.

A few efficiencies that would save a lot.
1. Abolish prescription charges to eliminate the need for processing millions of fees and charges every day and save the health consequences of people being unable to afford their medicines.

Pay rises for teachers need to be funded, not awarded with no money to pay for them. Pay rises for teachers need to bring them back to a level of reward that matches what they do and the cost of living. Key workers deserve their rewards.
