The sewage companies have been pumping out raw sewage since Brexit transition ended... all through the very dry summer. Sure it looks more when supplemented with storm water, but it's just less concentrated.
Filth in our water because of filth in our government.

RT @GMB: Holidaymakers are being warned to avoid dozens of beaches around Britain after water companies pumped sewage into the sea at multiple locations…

@FW10826 @YoungGreenParty No but there'll be a lovely bunch of young greens at uni who will be welcoming and find you useful and positive things to do while you are turning into a super hero 😊

@girlonabrompton @YoungGreenParty Getting some higher education is eye opening and transformative but it doesn't have to be done straight after school. In fact taking a gap year or returning to education after a few years of fixing the world in other ways is a great option.

RT @RichardJMurphy: @asentance @bankofengland So, I’ll ask the question again Andrew. You want draconian interest rate rises to squeeze demand out of the economy when most households will not in any case be able to pay their bills. So, tell me how many do you think will die as a result of the policy you demand?

3. are a momentary hurdle. Now you start a new journey with new opportunities to blossom, with an open mind & great teachers.
4. At uni you can join the @YoungGreenParty and start changing the world so that it's fair and lovely to everyone!
That's what matters! 😘

A level results today? Great stuff. Here are some thoughts:
1. You're the same level of awesome as you are regardless of what letters someone gave you.
2. The university you're headed for chose you because you're awesome, not for the grades. Don't panic! They'll be in touch.

RT @GeorgeMonbiot: Do you live in a freeport? Since rings of up to 75km wide were drawn around them, without consulting us, many millions of us now do. Yet trying to discover exactly what this means is like pulling teeth. In today's column, I attempt to work it out.

@csav55 @MatthewStadlen More of a puzzle why Truss is not alone in thinking she is suited. Are all the others promoting her just looking for preferment?

RT @Haggis_UK: Sajid Javid responds to the leaked audio of Liz Truss saying people outside London don't work hard enough

"The comments you're referring to about Liz are being taken out of context, but I don't exactly know the context they were made" 🤦

RT @Haggis_UK: Ed Miliband - "Are you willing to tax those oil & gas giants... Sunak was dragged kicking & screaming to a windfall tax & Truss opposes a windfall tax on principal.. so are you willing to stand up for the British people or are you standing up for the oil & gas producers"

@greenmattbfd It would increase road deaths. It would increase congestion on the roads. It would lead to a decline in the health benefits seen by those who cycle to work and school.

@ChrisJHutch74 @KiltedGreen Take a look at the January 2021 bend on the UK inflation line. That's when the transition period ended. Maybe we'd be like France without that, no? And if our government had done any strategic work towards energy security and food security...

RT @JolyonMaugham: For what it's worth, to address Kathleen's point directly, I tend to think those familiar with the reality of the lives of trans people are better placed to talk about the issues raised than those who are not. I find it surprising this should be a matter of controversy.

What would you do if you had to work in a place like this? Interesting thread.
(Good on those who are succeeding in ensuring that no civil service department actually works effectively for anything in this country. I can see why. Ultimately the workers have the power.)
RT @NicolaKelly: 🚨New: For months, @hackneylad and I have been looking at what's going on @ukhomeoffice and how it became the department we see today.

My task …

RT @KiltedGreen: @catherinerowett What’s another thing that’s happened for the first time in 40 years? Ah yes, leaving the EU.

Every country that puts obstacles in the way of cycling sees reduced cycling, poorer health, more cars on the road, more cyclists killed. Cyclists spend more in town centres; contribute benefit not harm to environment and economy. Tories are dog whistling to the climate deniers.
RT @greenmattbfd: ☠️ 1000s of people are killed on Britain's roads each year

📈 Most of these are caused by car drivers - and this figure is increasing…
