RT @HenryGentGreen: New wind and solar will SUBSIDISE the electricity price yet Tory leadership candidates want to hold off.

@DavidRobjant @seatsixtyone Ah, now it seems that the train does run, from Paris, but not via Strasbourg. So I can get on it in Paris instead. Which is what I wanted to do in the first place.... Only it wouldn't offer me any sleeping berths. 🙄

@DavidRobjant @seatsixtyone OK they have now confirmed via the DM on Twitter that the train I have booked on has been rerouted and no such train from Strasbourg exists. So my ticket is for a train that doesn't run. Did they bother to tell me? No. Can I fix it? Almost certainly not.

Exactly this. We know blows with the wind, turning to wherever they point her in the hope of getting promotion. Was a Lib Dem, then pro EU, now the pet of the ERG and deregulation. Zero principles. Total vacuum in moral and political terms.

RT @GreatAunty1: In case any of you are seduced into thinking Liz Truss, being so utterly crap, means the Tories have lost the plot, please think again. She is be…

RT @GreatAunty1: So mes braves, get ready for the Liz Truss premiership. Nothing will come from her. Everything will come from the ERG handlers. Every speech. Every policy. Every evil act
They will see her as a two year project to settle power in their hands for good. This is strategy

@DavidRobjant @seatsixtyone I've received this message every day for about a week and each time it comes I do some more research to try to find that train on that day. Nothing in the system, no matter how you search for it, accepts that there is any such train, at that time or any other, on that date.

@unsereOEBB are you able to help me with this? I'm getting no reply from customer services? All my trains booked across France are wrong if this train won't work. Why can't you explain? @NightTrainWorld maybe you can advise?

Anyone have a good feeling about the glorious new future we face under another puppet prime minister pandering to the greedy and the rich and the climate-change-deniers, the racists, anti-vaxxers, transphobes, the still-not-woke-up and other mongers of fear and hatred?

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

What's going on here? As far as I can see Nightjet have actually taken the train I'm booked on right out of existence even though I have a ticket for it and a cabin reserved. But do they have the decency to tell me so? And how do they propose I complete my journey to Vienna then?

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

RT @CockertonMark: The Express, Mail, Sun, Telegraph etc will have already written their front pages warmly praising the new Prime Minister as the right choice for Britain.
They just have to wait to see whose name and photo to put on it.

@BylinesEast We don't have a serious government. We have no one in government who understands the timescale of the climate emergency. We have no one who sees that investing in energy reductions is essential, for happiness and for survival. It's our consumption that's destroying the world.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

@BylinesEast Serious governments invest in quick cheap energy such as onshore wind, require solar on all new buildings and refurbishments, invest in insulation and energy storage solutions. They never let that myth about needing nuclear for "base load" get peddled by the nuclear lobby. But

@BylinesEast Pretending that the outstanding issues can be solved and make the project viable. Pretending that it won't be below sea level before it begins.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

@BylinesEast They're pretending as ever. Pretending to address the climate crisis, when we know that the building of this will be making it worse. Pretending to address the energy costs when we know that this power will never come online and is at an astronomical price.

RT @AdrianRamsay: Deeply disappointed to see the Government has given go ahead for Sizewell C.

The country needs investment in renewables and insulation at scale to address the cost of living and climate crises, not outdated technology that will be a drain on bill payers for the next 75 years

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

RT @GreenPartyMolly: No energy for at least 15 years!

is an expensive white elephant

How dare government load these massive costs onto people struggling with the cost of living crisis?

Just because their members don't like onshore wind which is far cheaper and faster to install

If they go ahead with this without waiting to address the lack of a permanent water supply, the people & farmers of Suffolk will find out the hard way that you can have either water or nuclear power but not both. And if you go for the latter you're unlikely actually to get any.

"Attention will now turn to how the project will be funded, and a number of outstanding considerations outlined by the Secretary of State – these include biodiversity, a lack of permanent water supply and issues on the nearby A12."
