RT @PrivateEyeNews: Government admits nearly 1 in 10 PPE contracts it awarded - around half a billion’s worth - are suspected to have been fraudulent - but that’s “no higher than standard” for NHS procurement! Full shocking story in the brand new Private Eye, in shops now.

We have an open border. We're re unable to implement Brexit. The fantasy of technical solutions won't resolve the issue, which is actually Brexit. They never understood what Brexit meant and they can't afford to implement it. But we can't afford not to. We're a gaping hole. 😵
RT @DavidGHFrost: I agree with @Jacob_Rees_Mogg. It is excellent news that the Govt has taken this decision.
It never made sense for us simply to replicat…

RT @uk_domain_names: "Last night saw fascism make big advances in the UK. Because, it would seem, Labour could not be bothered to call in all its working peers to vote in the Lords"

Tories won a series of huge votes that will erode democracy and the right to protest. 🚨 🧵 👇 westcountryvoices.co.uk/fascis

RT @KatyJayne101: The Tories' takeover of the Electoral Commission (who investigated Johnson's flat refurb) means that no independent body can now oversee the integrity and transparency of our political / finance / electoral systems.

This is how democracies die and how dictatorships arise.

Shame on the UK, pretending that Drax is a renewable energy source and counting it as a virtue. This power station burns trees felled overseas and shipped to the UK. It is contributing to déforestation and carbon emissions on a huge scale.
RT @DraxGroup: Drax currently produces 12% of the UK’s renewable electricity ⚡ more than any other generator. Find out how BECCS will allow us to go even further ⬇️

RT @BremainInSpain: Brexit: UK government 'squarely responsible' for protocol deal

Dr Andrew McCormick, was the executive's lead on Brexit, said the UK govt understood the implications of the NI Protocol.
He dismissed any notion the protocol was "anti-democratic"

@Mandoline_Blue @chrisywo Corrupt Tories "promise" to seek out corruption, spending more public money on doing so 🤣

Who will be getting the £25 million to run this investigation 🤔
RT @Mandoline_Blue: Don't you love how Sunak has waited a whole year to very publically launch a £25m “fraud squad” to crack down on the criminals who stole billions of Covid Support money?

Why now? Why not six months ago? Why 10 days before the May elections?

Oh. 🧐🙄

@filosofical_140 "should" rather than "could". How about we all ask our council candidates whether they will be proposing that and when?

@OwainAlty Yes they can and that's great. And yes pollarding and coppicing are good practices and should continue or be introduced in some settings. But vicious destruction of established hedges is unnecessary and inappropriate in a time of biodiversity crisis.

@CommonSeas Let's not waste time researching how much is OK. That's what the pro plastic lobbies will want us to do, meanwhile ensuring that we run way beyond the state we're now in. No, let's just quit plastic now, cold turkey, once and for all for ever. End it. No more plastic in shops.

How about ban hedge cutting and tree felling all year? Yes trimming back a single year's growth, but no to cutting or hacking things down. These are the things we need everywhere. It should be illegal to remove healthy hedges or trees.
