@Mo97942316 They don't want to pay for other people to have hospital treatment. They didn't study economics properly at Oxford and are confused about how they make the money they want to hoard. Nor did they learn any politics, about how to make a secure and safe society with low crime.

@JeremyVineOn5 Even if they were connected, what on earth would be wrong with that? The point of strikes is to demonstrate that a service is crucial and needs to be properly staffed and properly paid or it can't be provided. Government needs to address the problem, not blame the unions for it.

RT @SaulStaniforth: @JeremyVineOn5 A reminder that in January Huw Merriman, the Tory rail minister, admitted the govt has spent more money fighting railway workers than it would have cost to settle the dispute. Will you be mentioning this?

RT @Feargal_Sharkey: "Therese Coffey visits Martlesham [shit] Creek over water quality."

While posing for photos I wonder did the Secretary of State ask the nice man from @AnglianWater about the £4,328,690 in fines the company has paid for dumping sewage in the last 2 years?

RT @ClaudiaWebbe: BP’s profits have just gone up again to £4 billion for the first quarter of 2023.

Whilst you’re paying through your nose they are lining their pockets. This is the cost of greed crisis.

RT @JamesAbbott2013: I often walk past an Oak tree on a rural track that is probably about 350 to 400 years old. Despite that age, its immense value in itself and as a habitat for other species, it has no protection. All veteran trees should be listed under law, just as important buildings are.

RT @VixL: @catherinerowett Plus they'd only given a 1 or 2% rise in the last 13 years when inflation was double that.

So we are already earning way way less in real terms due to over a decade of failure to support public services.

If UK food prices are rising at 17%,
or even "only" 15%,
how can it be
"fair and reasonable"
to offer the nurses
or teachers
a rise of 4.5% or 5%?

Those Conservative ministers need maths lessons.

Starmer pledged to "support abolition of tuition fees". But he seems not to have the courage actually to do so. The Green Party has an unwavering commitment to ending tuition fees, because they are fundamentally unjust and they damage the economy and students' education.
RT @PolitlcsUK: 🚨 | NEW: Keir Starmer is to SCRAP his plan on free university tuition fees

@DavidRobjant Fascinating. What the ABP of Canterbury's press release says is perfectly fine. It's unclear who is unable to read and understand, or whether they are deliberately blowing things up. Utterly unhelpful either way.

RT @danbarker: In other words, the version of the story that has spread sounds like: "Everybody is supposed to pledge allegiance to the King next week"

While actually the story is just: "If anyone specifically *wants* to pledge allegiance, they *may* read along to this bit at home..."

Many other nations swear allegiance to their flag. Might it be better to promise to uphold the rule of law, defend the natural environment and stand up against tyranny & corruption? Making some citizen commitment seems no bad thing, Plato's Crito notwithstanding.
RT @GMB: Will you pledge allegiance to King Charles III during the coronation?
