@BurnsideNew @Otto_English You do. You're not obliged to use any of the things of course. It's up to you. If you want to avoid all the convenient things that are provided on your doorstep, you might prefer to live somewhere else, but no one is going to make you do anything or dictate anything to you.

@DwWork2 @BurnsideNew @Otto_English The point is you design the planning to ensure that what people need is accessible. Like, you know, we used to have. Rows of shops, a local doctor, dentists, schools, clinics, repair shops, post office, bank, cafe, pub etc. In cities, you know...people live there and buy stuff.

@BurnsideNew @Otto_English Yes, that's what we are asking for. That is what the proposal is. Nothing else is proposed: just to make it that the things you need are there for you.

RT @PaulEDawson: The scandalous rise of private jets.

Private planes are up to 14 times more polluting, per passenger, than commercial planes and 50 times more polluting than trains!

RT @castlvillageman: As Socrates said
"it is easier to have border controls in 3 ports that already have border controls rather than erecting 307 border controls that will be blown up"

RT @ucu: 🚨BREAKING: YOU DID IT!

We have agreed a two week period of calm after breakthroughs in talks covering:

- pensions
- ending zero hour contracts
- ending casualisation
- tackling workload
- pay

@q_ueering @DrFloraPoste I think it works better for full time than hourly paid. The full time job is for 5 days: if you're on strike for some of those the work you would have done doesn't happen, including prep for the next week. But it should also apply for hourly paid, if it requires prep done ahead.

RT @SirJJKC: Any agreement can be amended or replaced by a later one, if the parties agree. Article 13.8 simply reflects that. It doesn’t assume there *will* be a later agreement, & certainly doesn’t (and couldn’t) compel the parties to make one /1

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

RT @AlexanderHorne1: @SirJJKC This letter is fairly disingenuous since it completely ignores the democratic override (Art 18), negotiated by @BorisJohnson and his team (and presented as a triumph at the time). The truth is that if a majority in NI want to end the trade related aspects of the Protocol they can

@DrFloraPoste Remember, if you were on strike on the preparation days you didn't have any paid time to prepare. The lecture should be cancelled because we're on action short of a strike and we don't work the out of hours prep.

@shaney1982 @SpitalfieldsNPF @StuartAndrew The cases in Tower Hamlets were entirely related to postal votes, including fake registrations (with postal votes). Nothing related to in person voting. electoralcommission.org.uk/med

@henrydodds Ha ha. Privatisation has been such a wonderful success! Rivers are so clean, prices so low, infrastructure so well cared for, green energy so quickly replacing the white elephants!

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

@d4nnoon False. The high prices are because we don't have green energy, which is cheap, and because the fossil fuel companies are making huge profits and putting up prices. Renewables cost far less. But don't let facts get in the way of your ideology.

Utilities should be in public ownership and not for profit.
Any surplus should come to the public purse, to be used for improving infrastructure and the green transition.
Retweet if you agree.
