I think maybe most people don't know that this could be a tax dodging thing. Or could it be that he had lost some other source of funds for something? But what and why? Russia? We need to know. There's a reason why he went to Kiev. To distract us.
RT @SmithTonyD: I repeat. Why is no one curious about why the heck the former PM needed a loan of £800k?

Using what we have now and stop using fossil fuels could get us to 80% renewable usage by 2030. theguardian.com/environment/20

Do you need to consult your ethics adviser to decide whether what Zahawi did is shameful?
PS, happy to provide ethical advice for those who are ethically illiterate and struggling with this issue.

@tolethorpe @sonofr The legality is the problem. Not everything that's legal is right, just, fair or decent. Unjust laws made to benefit the rich cost this country billions. It's not hard to understand.

@mattprescott People are talking about his £800,000 loan and the thing about the BBC appointment. I suspect there's something seriously scandalous there, at least as bad as the "little tax error" that Zahawi made, and he needs to run to Ukraine and pretent to be a hero as before. Won't work.

@AHMGBR Ah that's interesting. The PASS card (and Post office site for it) doesn't mention that it is accepted as voter ID. But it still costs £15 to get one. I see you can also use out of date ID documents, and identity cards for other EEA states. Bonkers really.

Among the puzzles are why Boris Johnson was short of a few £myriads and what he needed it for and why he needed a guarantor. I mean, it's not like he was on a nurse's salary.

@GrumpyOldBikerr Yes, postal votes: the only place where serious voter impersonation and illegal interference in people's freedom to vote in secret takes place. But why would we look into that actual corruption when we could pretend it happens in the polling station?

Daily Mail shocked that the Tories have made most people in this country so poor that they don't earn enough to pay tax, and in fact don't earn enough to pay rent or live on, and need to have state benefits just to survive. "Something for nothing"? Rather, all work and no pay.
RT @torydemolition: Despite all the tory rhetoric about incentives and getting people "back to work", the number of people on welfare has grown enormously on their watch.

@HuguenotHouse How utterly ridiculous. Why don't they issue proper ID cards, since ID is required for so many routine things?

What was Nadhim Zahawi's non-deliberate error do we suppose? Failing to find an evasion scheme that actually worked? Failing to cover his tracks adequately and getting found out? Or failing to realise that a decent person gladly pays tax in the country they seek to serve? 🤔
