RT @Nordfolcian: It may be a political choice but I think it is a social choice too. That is to say, the 'rulers' want to make the people more subservient while making their own position wealthier and more powerful.

RT @nicholas_till: £700 million for fair pay for nurses? That’s two weeks of the Brexit dividend promised on the Brexit bus. You’re welcome.

RT @Femi_Sorry: Niall Paterson: The Nurses said they wouldn't strike if your government even DISCUSSED pay with them.

Maria Caulfield: But to pay them more, we'd have to raise taxes or borrow.

Niall Paterson: Or not waste £30 billion on useless PPE?

Thank you @skynewsniall!!👏🏿👏🏿

@SmartGrowthUK @HughJaeger @PricedOutUK What's needed is actual council houses, not private developers and not for sale. Then the houses bought up by private landlords to let out for rent could return to being houses people could afford to buy to live in. We need to take the private profit out of social housing.

Why does he ask these silly questions?
RT @johnredwood: When will top NHS managers tell us their plan to recruit and retain enough nurses and doctors? Why have they allowed staff relations to get so low? Why do they depend too much on expensive Agency staff?

Instead of subsidising energy use (pouring public money into energy company shareholders), how about raising public sector pay so that people can afford to go out and pay for the goods and services, at the price it costs? Then tax revenues would rise.

RT @EmilyLincOBrien: We need to make work pay & keep nurses out of food banks.

A food bank manager just told me they've started evening & weekend sessions because of growing numbers of people with jobs who need them. In what world is that ok?

RT @hoppyite: And where does the money from higher interest rates go?

It goes to those that don't deserve the pay rise.

It goes to those who need their pay cutting.

It ends up with nurses not getting the pay rise they deserve as the tax revenue is lower.

RT @BrexitBin: "The Migration Advisory Committee has found that in the sectors most reliant on EU labour before Brexit, wage growth has actually lagged behind the wage growth in the rest of the economy. The data illustrates that high vacancies don't automatically translate into higher wages.”

RT @drvolts: Drives me crazy that people are still pining away for some magic blue-light arc-reacor sci-fi energy source to save us when solar and wind are out there doing it, as we speak.

@TheGreenParty stands with all workers who have been forced to take action, as wages fall over decades and working conditions with unfilled vacancies become unsafe.

And a prerequisite for serious sensible talks about how to resolve the issues requires that you first take proper advice in economics: how public finances work; why low public sector pay leads to recession and doesn't save any public funds but rather drains the public purse.

The fact that you trained lots of people to be and doctors is no help (in fact it's a huge public waste) if you don't look after their wellbeing and pay them enough to stay and work.

@drsarahcroke But then they must be very stupid because their own greed can only be satisfied if there is a workforce to enslave and businesses to enslave them, but destroying a country and all its economic functionality benefits no one. Even the value of their mansions will fall.
