RT @RichardJMurphy: The government is going to pay our commercial banks £136 billion of excess interest over the next five years on money the government gifted to them using the QE process. That’s £27bn a year that could be used in the NHS and education. This is outrageous. A thread….

RT @RichardJMurphy: Let me put this in context. £27 billion a year also happens to be the amount of increased tax a year imposed yesterday. All of that is going to our banks. They are the only people gaining from it under Hunt’s plans.

RT @profrichharris: The 3% pay offer we have been offered this year is not only 8 percentage points below inflation, it is 2 to 3 percentage points below the average pay increases in the private and public spheres. So our pay is not only being cut, it is being cut more than is average in these times

RT @profrichharris: The employers like to describe it as a 9% to 3% pay increase and the larger pay increases for those on the lowest salaries are to be welcomed. But it is 3% for most people and even for those with greater, it is still a real terms cut. Even the lowest paid will be paid less.

RT @DonnachadhMc: Getting paid £150m to call a fascist homophobic misogynistic dictatorship "something really special", is not the kind of propaganda David Beckham should be smearing his branding with... 🤮🤮

No eggs?
1. Bird flu is now endemic. New approach is needed especially for free range flocks.
2. Supermarkets need to pay farmers a price that covers the increased costs.
Concealing the true rise in the price of food just puts farmers out of business and leaves shelves empty.

RT @Nordfolcian: If Labour continue their present strategy they will turn off a lot of their support from people who want something different to the Tories Yes they may get back some red wall votes but they'll lose people like me & let Tories in again

RT @Sillyshib: I can’t get my head round the argument that they are using for keeping nom dom status is that they’ll leave. As they are not paying their full share of tax, will it matter?

RT @AdrianRamsay: fine print shows Tories have kicked promise to cap care costs for individuals into long grass

But we can't continue to put off addressing social care crisis. That's why @TheGreenParty is calling for a free at point of use system to give people certainty &dignity

RT @Femi_Sorry: @JamesCleverly You guys have an incestuous revolving door.

You entered government with Liz Truss, after she hired IEA directors as her advisors, immediately before crashing the economy.

Regardless of whether she works OFFICIALLY works there anymore, it should be flagged by @bbcquestiontime.

RT @SanjayFBPEUK: @BellaWallerstei ☝️ More than triple whammy:
1. Higher tax
2. Rising prices
3. Higher interest rates
4. Worse services
5. Less opportunities for our children to work internationally
6. Miles more red tape for our businesses to export

That is leaving aside enduring mass lying and corruption.

It's twaddle that the non dom tax status is useful to the UK. Useful research summarised in this thread. What we need is more access to visas for people to come here and pay tax. They don't need to be exempt from tax.
RT @arunadvaniecon: 3⃣ If a government were to abolish the regime, we have showed there would be very little emigration as a result. People would have to respond a lot more than they ever have before, to find some…

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

RT @arunadvaniecon: Ultimately if you want to encourage these people to come, 🥇policy number 1 has to be expanding visa availability.

Clearly lots of other issues in migration policy, that go beyond economics, but if claim is we want them to come here, have to start by making that poss.
