But at #COP27 all countries should be using the term "phase out" and not "phase down".

Same with delays in the transition from fossil fuels. Every day we go on increasing road traffic and air traffic emissions is a day we make more millions into homeless migrants crossing the Channel to get to a safer place. Walls don't help. We have to stop burning their land.

Diverting "foreign aid" money to things that aren't foreign aid (to fund research projects in UK universities to fund the refugee hostels in the UK) makes the problem of displacement of vulnerable people worse not better.

This is why human rights organisations are so important, and commitment to securing human rights, rights for women, lgbtq+ people and freedom of religion, the right to farm one's own land and the right to education for girls... All need to be delivered here and abroad.

Spending foreign aid money imprisoning refugees in camps in England and stopping them from working in the UK? When you could spend it on helping to make their home country safe for them to stay where they grew up? #ForeignAid cuts have serious consequences 🙄

No need to spend more patrolling french beaches if you spend the money on giving refugees a safe way to seek asylum, in France or after a ferry crossing to England, ~which they're entitled to do, and we need to let them do.
If we don't offer a route they'll be dying in lorries.😢
