RT @EmilyKerr36: What is this lunacy? Oxford commas are great.

Though admittedly it wouldn’t be my first priority for the NHS.

Basically, UK will borrow to subsidise huge profits of energy companies and claw it back in future. Those huge profits will be taxed by the EU (which knows what to do & does it). So for years, households in 🇬🇧 will pay tribute to 🇪🇺 because of UK govt subsidies on energy bills.🤪
RT @rjbarfield1: It’s complicated, but the UK political optic is likely to be that international energy firms are being supported by UK consumers - who…

@yrieithydd @Beany_1 @BBCr4today "Quiet" fuming seems a far too meek response. We need to be out on the streets with more than just blank pieces of paper.

Things govt might not want to do if genuinely trying to solve an inflation crisis:
Cut wages and workers' rights
Funnel public money to energy companies who are extorting billions
Uncap the bankers' bonuses
Load the costs, debt and risks onto struggling firms and citizens.

RT @Beany_1: Getting rid of the cap on bankers bonuses is apparently to ‘make it more attractive to do business here’ For the same reason they will dilute workers rights & environmental standards.

This is, of course, because Brexit made it spectacularly unattractive to do business here.

RT @13sarahmurphy: So. Reinstating bankers’ bonuses is a Brexit benefit is it? Much like allowing filth in our waterways, weakening workers’ rights and consumer protections and lowering our food and welfare standards.

Tories “turbocharging” inequality and insecurity to please the super-rich. Nice.

This is excellent news for EU countries.
RT @UNI_Europa: NEW: The European Parliament has adopted the directive on minimum wages & collective bargaining, which now enters into EU law.

Important step forward: the EU recognises central role of collective bargaining and sets objective for all countries to reach 80% coverage.

I don't mind having King Charles but we really don't want and must not have Andrew as anything remotely connected with being or substituting for our Head of State. The mere fact that he doesn't understand that disqualifies him.
