@HarryMbike So let's get clear on what your answer is: the journalist has got this completely wrong, and the E2BN has awarded a small contract for something or other to the Cornish company, but it certainly isn't £17 billion and it isn't to manage the entire public sector net zero project?

the grim outlook does not justify inaction..we could potentially limit the damage if societies.. embraced certain fundamental.. achievable changes

We could abolish the goal of perpetual economic growth..'

RT @paullewismoney: “The right’s Brexit fantasy — of a revitalized Britain, freed from the shackles of Europe and able once again to confidently assert itself at home and abroad — is finished.” says New York Times.

PR puts things right.
This would be a good start, though obviously people would think differently about their voting decisions as they got used to it, and stopped having to vote for the lesser evil to get rid of the totally evil—so these numbers would get even better.
RT @PaulHindley_: .@YouGov poll (21-22 July)* under pure PR:
🍀 Sinn Fein - 4
❎ Scottish Greens - 3
💚 Greens (E&W) - 46
🌼 Plaid - 6
🌹 Labour - 242

RT @LeicesterWorker: "As the Conservative leadership election passes to the party’s 160,000 mostly old, white, male members, it is increasingly clear that any reset after the excesses of Boris Johnson will be personal rather than political."

@girlonabrompton FPTP is a bit different because it systematically gives power to a party with a minority of votes cast. Which leads to this parody, where a tiny self-selected minority of that minority of voters have the right to present us with a prime minister we don't want.

@girlonabrompton The precise number isn't the issue. Probably putting it to a random 160k citizens would produce an OK outcome. But instead the power lies with an unrepresentative bunch of privileged white older people whose picture of a happy country was formed when they were 6.

@KiltedGreen @lizmallard Same if you have a baby in a pram. We don't have wheelchair users living down this cul de sac but we do have elderly people who walk with a stick and a mum with a baby in pram.

You cannot.

Working to contract is not an "unofficial strike". When workers get together in a union and decide not to take voluntary extra work, that's not "unions forcing workers" to have their rest days. That's workers choosing not to comply with the wishes of the employers.
