RT @MarinaPurkiss: I’m really developing a soft spot for Dorries…

Here she is, happily telling us that Tory donors are blackmailing the party to keep Johnson in power

You do you @NadineDorries

RT @fluff35: Can we ‘debate’ transgender? A call not just for logic, but for “a grown-up, and open-minded, and kind, and humane, and humorous, and inquisitive, and un-fanatical, and tolerant, and mature—and sensible—sensibility” viamedia.news/2022/06/07/argui

Happy to go on booing the , and all the suckers who voted confidence, because they have no alternative to propose. Too right. There's no one in that rabble of lying idiots who could take over and sort out their mess. May they go ever downward in the polls.

RT @Matthew82069336: John Penrose may be resigning about a Boris Johnson's fundamental breach of Ministerial Code, but didn't have much to say when his wife Dido Harding made £37 billion+ of Test and Trace money vanish quicker than Lord Lucan.

@peterjukes No. If they had principles they'd have been voting against the crap legislation and they'd have resigned from the party and done some decent honourable things. They're just looking to which side their bread's buttered.

@Daniel_Laycock1 This way is good. Everyone hates them. No honeymoon for a new sparkly clean broom before all the skeletons come out. They'll lose some more by elections and then we shall despatch them to history. To become a byword of incompetent and ruinous failure of leadership. 🤣

It took a war and an energy crisis, but America has a president who knows what to plan for. Unlike the UK.
RT @ella_nilsen: Big news for energy/climate twitter: Defense Production Act for heat pumps is happening, WH announces. Also will be covered under DPA: solar panel components, building insulation, electric transformers needed for the power grid, and equipment like electrolyzers and fuel cells.

Funny how didn't notice how out of order the bill that outlawed peaceful protests was, when he voted for it. We had to tell him by threatening him at the ballot box? Who'd vote for someone who suddenly finds a moral compass when the crowd boos the prime minister? 🙄

Let's face it, they're only turning against Johnson because they're afraid they'll lose their seats. They had no qualms about his lies or his law-breaking buffoonery while it was winning votes. They must have known Brexit was a fool's dream, but they rode the bandwagon. Scumbags.

@Jesse_Norman Many examples of sound diagnosis of the rot at the heart of this government here. But on energy security/environment you could have been much more damning. There's no plan for making this country safe or resilient for a carbon-free future. It's not just that nuclear is useless.

@AndrewM83659066 @PaulbernalUK Wishful thinking generated a couple of years of denial, hiding behind Covid and pretending all was well —because they have no solution to what you do about the mess you were part of, and for which you have no suitable leader to propose.

So there's potential for yet more inequality between those in salaried private sector jobs vs those on zero hours contracts, or in vocational jobs such as teaching, research, caring: where you have to do what must be done, so if you do only the bureaucracy nothing happens at all.

Greens have been advocating the 4-day working week for years: we know it works in many jobs. But let's note that some people already work more hours than there are in 5 days. Hourly paid jobs would need higher wages. 24hr coverage will need more staff.

We need rules against fireworks, for the sake of the animals. And especially it's utterly stupid to have fireworks at an event with horses (as if the Derby itself weren't cruelty enough).
