@Nordfolcian @CrispianWheldon @AngelaRayner Yes, but probably the limit of what she was allowed to do. It's clear that she wanted to do as much as she could, and would probably have mucked in more if given the chance. I don't think she has had much freedom to be herself.

@carla_denyer Ancestral land returned to the families who'd had to sell it due to poverty. It undoes some of the injustices that allow the accumulation of excessive wealth and exploitation of the poor. A quite different economic system we would do well to be more aware of.

This amazing book will be out tomorrow, and it includes chapters by many expert and distinguished authors (plus one by me on Murdoch and Plato). It looks expensive in hard back (libraries will buy that) but it's not quite so bad as an e-book, and good value given how VAST it is.

@Nordfolcian @AngelaRayner She's set an example of service. Her wartime activities were impressive. I'd have rather heard her views and guidance than our current elected buffoons. Her Christmas broadcasts were a source of sound advice. Pity she didn't intervene when the government proposed illegal things.
