@LLocock Farmers presumably exposed to several chemicals annually and over a lifetime, so it might be more than one. But the conflict of interest suggests perhaps the study you cited isn't to be trusted.

RT @RhonddaBryant: I’m not going to post photos of the Russian atrocities in Bucha and elsewhere in Ukraine but they are surely reason enough for 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 🇪🇺 and NATO to provide tanks and other offensive weaponry to 🇺🇦 ? We cannot stand by and pretend we haven’t seen the genocidal war crimes.

@GDNW1954 @NeilMullens @BylineTimes @BylinesEast The first thing might be for all of us to cancel our direct debits and send cheques for the part of the bill that doesn't include the charge for paying for the failed companies. It must surely be illegal to charge us for that.

The problem is we're talking about not being able to switch on that fire at all. About two parents working and still short of money. About families unable to afford hot water for a hot water bottle. About standing charges that eat all your money so you can't boil a kettle.

You remember that 2 bar electric fire do you? So do I. I still have it and use it. Yes, we used to be able to afford to switch on an electric fire, and dad's salary was enough, and mum could stay at home and cook us a hot dinner, a long slow stew, say. Remember? Good times?

@DAOBarry Public sector pay and benefits rising by less than half of the cost of living rise (and most had seen real terms decline over decades). It's genuinely apocalyptic. People will be out collecting firewood next winter. They may even be living in the woods.

@DAOBarry Yes. At the moment we still have an excess of job vacancies (but of course many require specific skills). But as disposable income shrinks to zero across a vast proportion of the population (everyone on low to middle incomes) arts leisure and hospitality sectors will collapse.

RT @DavidRobjant: There is a powerful human instinct to connect, to make of many problems one problem. But these problems do in fact connect. Millions of brits are being forced into energy poverty in part because MPs and ministers party with the KGB.

@Swissjack61 @BylinesEast @WEBylines Yes I can't see them having any other option. But if the energy company doesn't answer calls or emails and the Web site has no button to press to say end my misery now with immediate effect, it looks like you'd wait months to be heard.

RT @BylinesEast: This disaster is because governments failed to take seriously the need to reduce fossil fuel demand and convert to locally produced renewables, and farmed utilities out for profit.
