@catherinerowett I am strongly opposed to private education however we do need to be clear, calm, careful and realistic. Parents of privately educated children do pay for state education as well. I was a schoolteacher for many years and as a child attended an abusive cathedral boarding school. In my view, the only serious problem with private education is segregation and selection. I we keep private schools it would be quite right to make segregation and selection illegal.
