Re Why should number of imports&exports be secret? Put the cards on the table! Everyone should have the right to know what's going on in Europe with civilian use of firearms. We are already doing this exercise in the current dual use regulation. We should no longer fall behind this

Re The COM proposal to require end user certificates only for certain categories of firearms does should be improved. We need end user certificates for all firearms subject to declaration. This additional layer of control offers another chance for more traceability.

Re Having Member States that still use paperwork is unacceptable. Let us focus on the fasted possible creation of EU-wide centralized digital authorisation system.This is not something that should be postponed to the distant future. We need fast and clear deadlines for setting it up

Heute im @INTA meine Position als Berichterstatter für schärfere Import&Exportkontrollen für Feuerwaffen vorgestellt. In Europa sind 35 Mio. illegale Feuerwaffen im Umlauf. Zeit zu Handeln. Brauchen vor allem auch endlich Transparenz.

Re Bzgl. Export-Kontrollen bei Dual Use Gütern: Plädiere seit Inkrafttreten der neuen schärferen Regeln dafür dass sie auch entsprechend umgesetzt werden. Da ist noch ungeschöpftes Potential v.a. weil es dynamischer Rahmen ist.Gut dass COM das jetzt nochmal auf den Prüfstand stellt
