RT @_GilesAllen: @benhabib6 is completely right. @RishiSunak has made the wrong financial arrangement with France. The only thing it will achieve is to ensure a continued flow of migrants coming our way and a continued flow of money going to France @SuellaBraverman @RobertJenrick

RT @GBNEWS: ‘The French have learned the bigger the problem for the UK, the more money we’re prepared to throw at the problem’

Ben Habib says the UK is rewarding the French for bad behaviour with its new migrant deal and says it has made 'completely the wrong financial arrangement’.

@Kilsally @CatharineHoey @DCBMEP The EU itself also recommended such arrangements in 2017 before it realised it could weaponise the border issue against the UK

So will @GaryLineker do a deal with the BBC on his use of social media to preserve his 7 figure income.

Or

Will his principles prevail?

The more we have paid France, the more there have been illegal crossings of the Channel.

@RishiSunak has just agreed to pay them even more. Expect numbers across the Channel to go on even higher.

Crashing waste of taxpayers’ money.

We need genuine BORDER CONTROL

@ugghater I agree. She should have stood firm. We would be in a much better place right now if she had. Instead we have continued socialism under Sunak and Hunt.

@AnnieCshandbag @RishiSunak @Conservatives @johnredwood @Jacob_Rees_Mogg That would be absurd.

Why does @YlvaJohansson feel entitled to chastise @SuellaBraverman on her new Illegal Migration Bill?

It’s none of her or the EU’s business.

RT @MartinDaubney: 🚨From p56 of new Asylum Bill🚨

Secretary of State *may* defer to the ECHR esp sections that rule in favour of an asylum seeker's rights/prevent deportation

This Bill DOES NOT trump the ECHR. If it said “not withstanding the provisions of the ECHR” it might. ECHR still reigns!

RT @MartinDaubney: But it's all legalese, posturing & politics. Surely boats must be blocked in the Channel/returned?

NOTHING else will work. Stopping the boats is BORDER CONTROL. See Australia

EVERYTHING ELSE is costly, lengthy remedial measures to cope with FAILED border control

Section 29 (3) and (4) also provide carve outs for the ECHR and international agreements.

The draft wording of the Illegal Migration Bill is out:

publications.parliament.uk/pa/

Crucially there is no abrogation of the provisions of the ECHR. Indeed Section 49 creates exceptions based on ECHR rulings.

It won’t work if the ECHR is allowed to intervene.

RT @NigelDoddsDUP: What is the Government hiding? It is refusing to tell us which EU laws are removed under its deal. Isn't this because the vast bulk of EU law in the Protocol will remain in place for Northern Ireland with no consent? My question in Parliament today.

@AnnieCshandbag If true, that is very serious indeed. But where is the political will in HMG? Why is our government unable to govern?

@andrealeadsom @CatharineHoey I have. Front to back. How you could have reached your conclusion, having read it, is baffling.

I’d be delighted to run you through HMG and EU text to evidence how @RishiSunak has misrepresented the Windsor Framework.
