Re @Kilsally @ArleneFosterUK @CatharineHoey @JimAllister @DCBMEP @danielmgmoylan Yup!!!! Took a while but perhaps 515 idiotic MPs who voted for it will now reassess their erroneous positions. They partitioned the UK

One for @alexisconran... 🤓
I'm trying to 'fact check' this chart.
The only figure I've been able to match with those from the ONS is the £572.9bn for the value of UK exports in 2016.
Can you explain how you arrived at the rest? In particular, what is the deflator here?

Re I ask because the published ONS data for the volume of UK exports are somewhat different... 👇
The base year below is 2019, but this doesn't alter the fact that UK exports were about 11% higher in 2022 than 2016. (2/2)

@alexisconran has cribbed from this tweet, which is just nonsense.
For a start, you don't deflate trade data using the CPI!🙄 t.co/sRgOlXMHU8

Re @julianHjessop @alexisconran I was presented these figures on air and told I was wrong that Brexit had not materially affected trade with the EU
Pls could C5 identify the source of these figures and explain what they represent? They look totally wrong

Re @alexisconran @julianHjessop Thank you Alexis. Much appreciated.
I was baffled by the figures.
The truth is our Brexiting has not really affected our economy. What has damaged us dreadfully is lockdowns and 25 years of economic mismanagement.

But they were in charge and they defined brexit. We didn’t get what they defined.

Next time you’re graciously invited to appear on @GBNEWS decline equally graciously. Don’t seek to humiliate and damage those that would give you an opportunity to air your views.
