5. More protection for trade secrets and IP rights of private companies & clear roles of actors in the data economy, as well as that of data holders, data recipients, providers of related services and users.
3. A better mirrored reality of the IoT environment.
This will be achieved through:
👉 redefining the data holder as the one being in control of the data;
👉 unbundling obligations for manufacturers and providers of related services.
2. A more rigorous B2G data sharing framework, that will allow the public sector to be more efficient in reacting to public emergencies, while avoiding additional burden on the private sector; additional safeguards and ensuring security of their data.
1. Users at the centre of the data economy.
We will empower users in the data market, by allowing them to be compensated, harness the non-personal data they generate & benefit from safeguards in data sharing agreements.
We are one step closer to creating a fair, inclusive & efficient data economy in the EU! As @EP_Industry @RenewEurope shadow rapporteur on #DataAct, I just tabled my amendments aiming to unleash the value of non-personal data & add €270bn to the EU GDP by 2028. See below how 👇
What a week!
Just ended an 8 day tour in Romania, where I met over 500 citizens: farmers, students, entrepreneurs, local authorities & many more. It was a great exercise & a way of getting input from the ground, as well as talking about what does the EU do. On to the next one!
The #DataAct must create a fair data economy that boosts innovation and empowers #users and #business to access data.
We must harness the huge potential of data economy in the EU.
That's what I said today, in our @EP_Industry meeting in the @europarl_en.

Highly disappointed by the resolution of the Parliament in Netherlands on RO🇷🇴& BG🇧🇬access to Schengen. Both countries deserve since 2011 to be in Schengen, as stated in the #EP resolution adopted this week. I call on the 🇳🇱Governement to take the correct decision in the Council.

The message is loud and clear: RO🇷🇴 and BG🇧🇬 citizens deserve free movement in the EU. Time for the Council to show the same level of support!
Joined today in Bucharest a protest against the draft law which tries to copy in Romania some Orban-style policies on the prohibition of the so-called “LGBT propaganda”. Freedom of speech & human rights are core 🇪🇺 values.
