Thousands of women died in communist Romania following an #abortion ban in 1967. Thousands of unwanted kids were born & thrown in orphanages. For us in @RenewEurope this must NEVER repeat. That's why the right to abortion MUST be included in the EU Charter of #FundamentalRights.

We need an EU Action Plan for rare diseases as a pillar of the EU #HealthUnion, which can be built through EU shared competences in health.

👉 Strengthened online #transparency: users will be able to see who's behind web pages they use & whether they are legitimate + I am proposing a dispute resolution mechanism at EU level, where web browsers, IT experts, users & others can report website ownership issues
👉 An app that works in all EU countries & allows users to add documents issued in any EU state & is available & accessible to everyone, including minors, elderly or people with disabilities
👉 An electronic signature that can be received and is simple & user-friendly to use
👉 A user-friendly app which allows full #control of users over their #data
👉 Users should be able not just to share but also revoke access to their data directly from the app, without any barriers
👉 An app that allows users to log into certain services using #pseudonyms
Today I tabled 75 amendments to the European Digital Identity Framework (#eID) file, for which I am the @RenewEurope shadow rapporteur.
I am proposing several changes that will make it safer and easier for EU citizens to access public & private services, along these lines ⬇️

What a historical moment for the EU! European Council just granted EU #CandidateStatus to #Moldova and #Ukraine! It’s a well deserved decision and a proof of unity & courage in such troubled times. Funny how Russia wanted to divide Europe and it got the complete opposite.🇲🇩🇺🇦🇪🇺✌️
The @europarl_en spoke loud and clear today, with 529 votes in favour of granting EU candidate status to Moldova🇲🇩 and Ukraine🇺🇦.
The ball is now in Member States' court and I hope today's #EUCO will take the right decision.
