RT by @VilleNiinisto: Final agreement from the UN climate summit. It's as good a list as any on what needs to be done:
-triple renewable energy capacity by 2030
-double the rate of energy intensity reductions
-accelerate other zero emission technologies
-phase down coal power
-transition away from fossil fuels in line with net zero emissions by 2050 (!)
-substantially reduce emissions of methane and other non-CO2 greenhouse gases by 2030

It's laden with caveats and weak language, but here's the thing: the UN climate framework cannot force anyone to do anything even if they swore to by steamed pork buns and mama's apple pie. So the value of these proclamations is in and only in the follow-up. It's up to countries to prioritize this in their diplomacy and foreign policy, strengthen their own energy policies and dramatically ramp up financing. And up to all the campaigning organizations who pushed the process this far to up the pressure on governments, energy firms and investors.
