Last year, Bulgaria informed the Commission that it will proceed with the implementation of the “Regions in Development” cohesion programme without the JTF and the Territorial Just Transition Plans. 2/5

For the Commission, JTF investments for Bulgaria’s regions most impacted by the transition are very important, hence the need to have a swift submission of the Plans. 4/5

Apart from the MFF allocation for 2022, no funds have been lost.
JTF funding under #NextGenerationUE and the 2023 MFF tranche has to be committed by the end of 2023.
Exchanges at the technical level between the Commission and Bulgarian authorities continue. 5/5

To date, the Plans have not been formally submitted to the Commission. But implementation of the JTF can start immediately after submission and adoption of the Plans by the Commission. 3/5
